Football

This is Tom training for football, and getting ready to play a match.
This is Tom, Ryan, Josh, kristian, playing football.

This is Ryan warming up for his match.
On Monday we went to Sheringham Primary School to take part in a football tournament.

The selected team were; Connor, Joshua, Ryan, Tom, Harry, Ali and Kristen.

Josh scored a hat trick in the first game, which was against Antingham and Southrepps, we won the first match 4 - 2.

Throughout the afternoon,  Ryan, Connor and Joshua scored the goals. Ali knew where they were going to pass and intercepted well.  Harry had a fantastic save in goal to prevent a good shot from Gresham's and Erpingham going in. All of the team worked cooperatively together, both on the pitch and through training exercises in between games.

The second game we drew. Our final game was difficult and we lost in the final minutes 2-1. This was a qualifier tournament for the Norfolk Small Schools. Thanks to our performance on the day, coming second overall, we are through to the next round of the competition and looking forward to it.

Norwich castle

This is Debbie's group at Norwich castle.

This Roman Marcus,  tax collector,  was showing us roman objects over 2000 years old.

We learnt about the Celts and their lives in Norfolk.

Remembrance Day with the Royal British Legion

At 11 am this morning, 11th November 2013, we joined with our local Royal British Legion for a 2 minute silence.
Afterwards, Oak Class went into the hall and spoke to the members of the RBS.  Here are some of the photos:

Caleb, “A lady told us the Japanese were really cruel, the cruelest Army that the British fought against. They said they would tie themselves up in the trees, so you wouldn't know if you had killed them or not.”

Pupils and members had time to talk together.  This is what Oak Class learnt:
Ali, “If they fight for their country and non-stop fighting they get a medal from the Queen.”

Kristen, “Lots of people in the Army survived and were taken back to base and got treated and cured there by the medical team.”

Islay, “During the war, when they wanted to write to their families, they had a particular letter.”

Tom, “During the Japanese war, one of the British Legion was in Japan, one out of a twenty three people, only six of them survived”.

Tabby, “You could start in the army when you are 17 years old, if some of our soldiers didn't survive, we may not be now speaking English but German or Japanese!”

Kristen, “Lots of soldiers died, all the people who were at base, they wrote a letter saying that their family member had died in the war. They gave the soldiers’ medals to their families to remember them.”

Daniel, “I would like to fight for my country”.

Remembrance Day and Fitness

We are learning about Remembrance Day.  We are collecting money for the Royal British Legion by selling poppies.  We designed posters to help sales.

We are trying to get fit so we can win at cross country.  Miss Patel came in to school to train us.

All of us are jogging  on the spot.
